His ability to build meaningful relationships with senior executives, clients, and stakeholders has been key to his success, making him a respected leader in the current tech landscape – and today he’s up in our Spotlight On!

What’s a common misconception about business consulting that you often encounter?

A common misconception about business consulting is that consultants are simply “outsiders” brought in to tell companies what they already know or to recommend overly generic solutions. Many people believe that consultants don’t add much value and just repackage ideas that the company’s leadership could have generated themselves.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your role as a consultant?

What I find most rewarding is seeing the tangible impact of my work on a client’s business. Whether it’s helping a company navigate a significant challenge, driving growth through a strategic initiative, or enhancing operational efficiency, it’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my expertise has contributed to measurable success.

Each project brings its own unique set of challenges, allowing me to solve complex problems across various industries and collaborate with diverse teams. The continuous learning and growth, coupled with the opportunity to make a real difference, are some of the most gratifying aspects of the work.

What changes in business consulting excite you most? How are you applying these in your work with clients?

The business consulting industry is undergoing exciting transformations, driven by several emerging trends that are opening up new opportunities to deliver even greater value to clients.

The rise of AI, machine learning, and automation is revolutionising the field, allowing us to leverage advanced data analytics to provide deeper insights, make more informed decisions, and uncover trends that were once difficult (and slow) to detect. By incorporating these technologies, we can now help clients improve operational efficiency, anticipate market shifts, and craft more personalised customer experiences.

If you could give one key piece of advice to businesses looking to thrive today, what would it be and why?

My key piece of advice would be to embrace adaptability and have a continuous learning mindset. The pace of change in technology, market dynamics, and customer behaviour is faster than ever before. Businesses that can pivot quickly, innovate continuously, and adapt to new trends are the ones that will thrive.

This means working hard to build a culture where experimentation is encouraged, and learning from failure is part of the process. It also means remaining agile, investing in employee development, leveraging data for better decision-making, and staying ahead of industry trends like digital transformation, sustainability, and shifting consumer preferences.

It’s a lot, but this ability to adapt not only helps businesses survive in turbulent times but also allows them to seize new opportunities, differentiate themselves from competitors, and remain relevant to their customers in the long term.

What do you think is key to nurturing long-term client relationships?

Building trust is essential, and it comes from consistently delivering value, maintaining open communication, and truly understanding the client’s needs.

By offering tailored solutions that achieve real results, staying flexible as their goals change, and being transparent throughout the process, you establish yourself as a dependable partner. Going the extra mile by offering proactive insights and genuinely investing in their success further strengthens the relationship, turning short-term projects into long-term partnerships.

What do you think makes smart/tasking special?

smart/tasking tailors its services to meet the unique needs of each client, combining expertise with agility to provide both strategic and practical support.

By focusing on results instead of time spent, smart/tasking efficiently delivers measurable outcomes, helping businesses grow and succeed without the heavy costs of traditional consulting models.

What truly sets smart/tasking apart is its emphasis on collaboration and a deep understanding of each client’s goals, making it a trusted, long-term partner for business success.

What interests or hobbies do you pursue outside of work?

As an enthusiastic cyclist, my passion for cycling goes beyond just enjoying the ride—it’s a lifestyle that fuels my commitment to health, wellness, and personal growth. Cycling not only keeps me physically fit but also clears my mind, giving me a sense of freedom and mental clarity. And being based in Portugal means I can cycle almost all year round!
